An Actor, Artist, and Writer, Maya has always been a creative soul. She debuted onto the Indian art scene about six years ago. Since then she’s had multiple shows (both solo and group), and illustrated for a mobile app called Mytha. She also did commissioned works, including portraits, on request. At times abstract and at times figurative, all of Maya’s works speak to spiritual art enthusiasts much like herself. Growing up in New Zealand and Australia greatly influenced her work, giving the pieces a uniquely distinct characteristic. Traditional pacific and aboriginal motifs fill her mixed media artworks. Upon closer inspection one will find Sanskrit mantras etched into the paintings; while red circles of life add divine aplomb to the works – the perfect amalgamation of the artist’s heritage.
